Richard White has written one of four short plays that make up Night of the Umbrella, which ran for a limited season in January, 2015at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre, Kentish Town, London. This is the fifth production by the Bonnington Playwrights, a group who have held together for a decade, writing their own plays, developing and producing all over the capital from Highbury to Dalston by way of Covent Garden. In this project for 2015, the humble brolly is examined in four diverse para-plays:
A chance encounter in the rain,
The search for a valuable lost parasol,
An umbrella defining a time portal, and,
Umbrellas becoming the epicentre of a contagious illness.
